What kind of products can I use on my hair extensions?
You can use any kind of moose, gel or hairspray as long as it is alcohol free (alcohol is a drying agent). Try to avoid using shines, sheens and oils. Using a good spray-in conditioner on the ends of the hair will also help keep your hair extensions well hydrated.
How do I wash my hair extensions?
Shampoo and condition the hair in one direction, from top to bottom, by running the hair through your palms. Shampoo and condition the hair no more than 2-3 times per week. Can I use a blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron on my hair extensions?
Yes. your hair extensions are made of human hair and can be treated just like your own. Try to use a low heat setting, as applying a high heat will cause permanent damage to the hair.
Will people notice I am wearing hair extensions?
If you attach your hair extensions properly and choose the proper color blend, no one will even notice you are wearing hair extensions at all!
How long will my hair extensions last?
An instruction pamphlet outlining proper hair care instructions is included with every package. Although CALIHAIR™ hair extensions are made from one of the finest grades of hair, it can still be exposed to hair damage caused by low quality products, frequency of washes, excess or direct heat and improper individual care. However, if taken care of properly following the hair care instructions provided, your hair extensions can last for years.
Can I color or perm my hair extensions?
It is not recommended for you to color or perm your hair extensions as the hair has already been processed with color. Additional chemical treatment can make the hair frizzy and dull. If you want to darken the hair, you can use an amonia-free hair color. Never try to bleach or attempt to lighten the color.
The best way to match the color of your hair to the hair extensions is to color your own hair the same color as the hair extensions.
Can I color my own hair while wearing my hair extensions?
Yes. Your hair stylist or you can color your hair even with your hair extensions still on. Simply color the area of your hair you need to apply color to.
Can I use hair extensions for highlights and lowlights?
Yes. Using clip-in hair extensions are an excellent way of adding highlights or lowlights to your hair without exposing your hair to chemical processing.
Can I wear my hair extensions while sleeping?
It is recommended that you remove your hair extensions prior to sleeping so the hair will not get tangled or lose its form. However, if you wear your hair extensions while sleeping, tie it in a loose braid or ponytail before going to bed. Never go to sleep with wet or damp hair.
Can I wear hair extensions if my hair is thin?
