How To Wash Your Hair Extensions

You must shampoo and condition your hair extensions regularly, but no more than 2-3 times per week. Make sure you choose a good quality shampoo and conditioner appropriate for your hair type (a qualified professional hair stylist can help you with this). Do not use any products that contain alcohol as it will dry your hair extensions and cause breakage.

Before washing your clip in hair extensions, gently comb your hair extensions using a wide-toothed brush to remove any tangles. Wet your hair normally and apply shampoo by massaging it gently through your hair in one direction, from top to bottom (avoid scrubbing, rubbing or bunching the hair together). Then, rinse your hair thoroughly. After you finish shampooing your hair, apply an appropriate conditioner to keep your hair extensions well moisturized. Conditioners should be applied to the middle and ends of your hair. Do not apply conditioner to the scalp where the clips are attached to your hair. Gently work the conditioner into your hair from top to bottom and leave it on for around 5 minutes. If you experience tangling in your hair, use a wide-toothed comb to work out any knots you may have. Finally, rinse the conditioner off using warm (not hot) water. After washing your hair extensions, apply a good leave-on spray conditioning product to keep your clip in hair extensions well hydrated between washings.
